Art & History Museum

he Art & History Museum offers you the possibility to organize private evenings, receptions, conferences, dinners, symposiums and other events in a unique historical setting. If you wish, you can take advantage of your event to offer a guided tour in a museum or a temporary exhibition.

Reception rooms

The Great Narthex can accommodate receptions of up to 750 people. For dinners, it can accommodate up to 450 guests. The Grand Narthex is one of the most beautiful rooms in the museum, thanks to its grandiose architecture. The metal structures always make an impression, as do the large paintings on the walls.

The Apamea room can accommodate receptions for up to 500 people. For dinners, it can accommodate up to 250 guests. The main feature of this room is the impressive reconstruction of the central section of the Great Colonnade of Apamea (Syria), evoking the Belgian archaeological excavations carried out on this site since 1930. From there opens a superb perspective on the great “mosaic of the hunt” from the residence of the governor of Syria Secunda (5th – 6th century AD).

The room called “The cloister” can accommodate 150 people (reception or dinner). This space opens onto an interior garden and houses pre-Romanesque and Romanesque sculptures from our most important production centers. The 12th century baptismal font is particularly spectacular.

Meeting rooms

The modern auditorium has 236 seats and an adjoining foyer.

The Small Narthex is a conference room, with fixed seats like in a theater, that can accommodate 142 people.

Petra Room is a meeting room that seats 109 people.

The Council Chamber is a meeting space for 30 people, with tables set up in a U-shape.
